Tetrahydrofura n, also known as oxacyclopentan e, 1, 4-epoxy-butane, referred to as THF, is a five-member cyclic ether compound after 1 methylene in the cyclopentan e molecule is replaced by oxygen atoms, the chemical formula is (CH2)4O, and the density is 0.89 grams per cubic centimeter. It is a colorless and transparent organic liquid that can be miscible with water and has a small viscosity at normal temperature and pressure.
Tetrahydrofura n is a kind of heterocyclic organic compound, also a cyclic ether, its liquid range is very long, is a commonly used medium polarity aprotic solvent, the main use is as a polymer precursor, widely used as tape coating, PVC surface coating, cellophane coating, plastic printing ink, thermoplastic polyurethane coating resin solvent. Although its smell and chemical properties are very similar to ether, but the anesthetic effect is poor.
