Colorless acicular crystal or nearly colorless liquid, solidified at slightly lower temperatures, with a strong hawthorn and fruity and floral aroma, similar to acetophenone. Melting point 28ºC. Boiling point 225ºC (98.1kPa), 112.5ºC (1.47kPa), relative density 1.0051 (20/4ºC), refractive index 1.5335, flash point 92ºC. Soluble in ethanol; Ether; Benzene; Chlorofor m and propylen e glycol, almost insoluble in water. Soluble in ethanol and most non-volatile oils, slightly soluble in propylen e glycol and mineral oil, insoluble in glycerol and water. Natural products are found in rosewood essential oil, mimosa flower oil, etc.
