Methyl  methacrylat e (MMA) is a colorless, volatile liquid with a strong spicy taste and inflammability. Methyl  methacrylate soluble in ethanol, ether, aceton e and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in ethylene glycol and water; Polymerization is easy in the presence of light, heat, ionizing radiation and catalyst. Explosive when mixed with air, flammable in case of open fire, high temperature, oxidizer; Combustion produces irritating fumes that react chemically with oxidants and acids.
