Dichlorom etha ne is colorless, transparent, heavier than water and volatile liquid. It has ether
like smell and sweet taste. It does not burn, but forms an explosive mixture after mixing with
high concentration oxygen. Dichloro metha ne is slightly soluble in water and miscible with most
commonly used organic solvents. It can also be miscible with other chlorinated solvents, ether
and ethanol in any proportion. Dichlorometh ane can quickly dissolve in phe nol, aldehyde,
ketone, glacial acetic acid, triethyl phosphate, formamide, cyclohexyla mine and ethyl acetoacetate.

degreasing agent, gas smoke spray agent, polyureth ane foaming agent, release agent and paint
remover.
2.Dichloro metha ne is a colorless liquid, which is used as reaction medium in pharmaceutical
industry to prepare ampic illin, hydroxybenzylpenicillin and vanco mycin; It is also used as solvent,
oil dewaxing solvent, aerosol propellant, organic synthesis extractant, polyuretha ne foaming
agent and metal cleaning agent in film production.
