Pyridin e is an organic compound that is a six-membered heterocyclic compound containing one nitrogen heteratom.
It can be seen as one of the benzene molecules (CH) replaced by N compounds, so it is also called nitrobenzen e, colorless or slightly yellow liquid, with odor. Pyridin e and its homologues are found in bone tar, coal  tar, gas, shale oil, and petroleum. Pyridin e is used industrially as a denaturant, dye aid, and raw material for the synthesis of a range of products, including pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, dyes, etc.
