Acetonitri le, also known as methyl  cyanide, colorless liquid, extremely volatile, has a special odor similar to ether, has excellent solvent properties, can dissolve a variety of organic, inorganic and gaseous substances. It has certain toxicity and is immiscible with water and alcohol. Ace tonitrile is an important organic intermediate that can undergo typical nitrile reactions and is used to prepare many typical nitrogen-conrbamines and their intermediates, and also as an active medium solvent for the manufacture of vitamin B1 and amino acids. Can replace chlorinated solvent. Used in vinyl coatings, it is also used as an extractant for fatty acids, alcohol denaturant, butadiene extractant and solvent for acryl onitrile synthetic fibers, and has many uses in fabric dyeing, lighting, spice making and photosensitive material manufacturing.
