Colorless liquid. The freezing point is -139-140ºC, the boiling point is 63.5ºC, the relative density is 0.6731 (20/4ºC), the refractive index is 1.3837 (20ºC), and the flash point is -26ºC. 1 -hexene is soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, petroleum  ether, chlorofor m, and insoluble in water.
Uses: Used in the synthesis of resins, fragrances and dyes. It is also used to compare samples with gas chromatography.
1- hexene is also used as a copolymer of polyethylene and in the manufacture of dyes, detergents, pharmaceuticals and chemicals
