C3H6O2 (propionic  acid) is usually colorless or slightly yellow liquid at room temperature, has a pungent smell, flammable, can be miscible with water, but also soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. Propionic  acid has active chemical properties and can generate salt, ester, acyl chloride, amide, acid anhydride and other chemicals through chemical reactions. Mainly used in the production of preservatives, mildewproof agents, herbicides, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc., widely used in food, feed, pesticides, medicine and other fields.
