Xanthan gum has good suspension effect on insoluble solids and oil dropletsXanthan gum dissolves quickly in water and has good water solubility.  Especially in cold water can also dissolve, can save the complex processing process, easy to use  Xanthan gum solution is a highly efficient thickener because of its low concentration and high viscosity (the viscosity of 1% aqueous solution is 100 times that of gelatin).  Xanthan glue solution has high viscosity under static or low shear action, and the viscosity decreases sharply under high shear action, but the molecular structure remains unchanged.The viscosity of xanthan gum solution will not change greatly with the change of temperature, and the viscosity of general polysaccharides will change due to heating, but the viscosity of xanthan gum aqueous solution hardly changes between 10-80 ºC, even though the low concentration of aqueous solution still shows a stable high viscosity in a wide temperature range.  Xanthan gum solution can be miscible with many salt solutions (potassium salt, sodium salt, calcium salt, magnesium salt, etc.), viscosity is not affected.The stable double helix structure of Xanthan gum makes it have strong antioxidant and enzymolysis resistance. Many enzymes, such as protease, amylase, cellulase and hemicellulase, cannot degrade xanthan gum.

widely used in medicine, pesticide, oil drilling, daily chemical washing, textile printing and dyeing, tobacco, paper making, fire and many other industries.  Oil drilling grade xanthan gum is a kind of drilling mud additives, use broader range, the temperature, acid, alkali, salt tolerance, can obviously increase the permeability of the mud and suspended solid material ability, reduce the pressure in the process of drilling, stabilize borehole wall, reduce the damage to the reservoir, thus significantly increased the efficiency of drilling, workover, well completion work. This product has a good mud additive.  Long term stability in saturated salt water and temperatures of 85 degrees Celsius.  Therefore, it is an ideal oil displacement agent for high temperature and high salt oil fields.  
Characteristic

1) Xanthan gum is highly viscous and water soluble.  1% xanthan glue solution viscosity is equivalent to the same concentration of gelatin solution viscosity 100 times, thickening, viscosification effect is significant.  

2) Pseudoplastic rheological characteristics of Xanthan gum. Under the condition of constant temperature, xanthan gum solution can change reversibility of sol and gel with the change of mechanical force, so it is a emulsifying stabilizer.  

3) Excellent temperature and PH stability.  Xanthan gum can basically maintain its original viscosity and properties at a relatively large temperature (-18-120ºC) and PH(2-12), so it has reliable thickening effect and freeze-thaw stability.  

4) Satisfactory compatibility.  With acid, alkali, salt, enzymes, surfactants, preservatives, oxidants and other thickening agents and other chemical substances can form a stable thickening system, and maintain the original rheology.  

5) It has obvious rheological properties when mixed with locust bean gum and other gum in proper proportion.  

6) Safety and environmental protection.  In 1983, THE Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization (FAO/WHO) officially approved xanthan gum as a safe food additive, and there was no restriction on the amount of xanthan gum. At the same time, because xanthan gum is a pure biosynthetic gum, compared with other chemical synthetic gums, xanthan gum has no protection.
