Methano l (CH3OH) is the simplest structure of saturated mono alcohol, because it was first found in the distillation of wood, so it is also called "wood alcohol" or "wood essence".
Methano l is a colorless and volatile liquid with alcohol odor, and the finished product is usually prepared by the reaction of carbon  monoxide and hydrogen, which can be used to make formaldehyde and pesticides, and used as an extraction agent of organic matter and a denaturant of alcohol.
