N -heptane is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C7H16. It is a colorless, transparent and volatile liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and carbon tetrac hloride, and miscible in ether, chlor oform, ace tone, and benzene. It is mainly used as Standards and solvents for determination of octane number can also be used in the preparation of organic synthesis and experimental reagents.
